This is what might be known as \u2018one with the Spirit\u2019. Oswald says complete, not half-hearted. Seems Oswald has set a very high bar for us. It sounds as though there needs to be a quietness in our mind, heart and soul in order to hear his voice.<\/p>\n We live close to Love Field and near the flight pattern. On many occasions when we are on our patio talking about things, we have to stop until the plane gets out of sight or hearing, so that we might hear each other. That outside noise has drowned out our voices. Could that be what Oswald is saying? Are we listening for his voice or is there so much other stuff that has our attention, his voice is undetectable?<\/p>\n I suggest that he speaks through his word, in prayer, through others, preaching and teaching, even circumstances. Many men will tell you that their wives\u2019 voice sounds a lot like the Holy Spirit. I have heard his mentally audible voice on numerous occasions. Maybe you have also.<\/p>\n Chambers goes on to say\u2026\u00a0\u201cThe sense of warning and restraint that the Spirit gives come to us in the most amazingly gentle ways. And if you\u2019re not sensitive enough to detect His voice, you will quench it, and your spiritual life will be impaired.
