Yes, Paul said it another way while addressing the Corinthians. Glories can also be translated as \u2018boasts\u2019. Whatever you may have accomplished in your lifetime, it pales in comparison to Christ\u2019s sacrifice on the cross. Everything has been made possible by the cross. <strong><em>\u201cBut God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ\u201d <\/em><\/strong>(Gal. 6.14 NKJV).<\/p>\n<p>But Paul also goes deeper that they and we should understand the completeness of the cross. <strong><em>\u201cBut of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God\u2014and righteousness and sanctification and redemption\u2014\u201d <\/em><\/strong>(Vs. 30). Four things here are a result of trusting in Christ for salvation. Jesus became these for us.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wisdom from God<\/li>\n<li>Righteousness<\/li>\n<li>Sanctification<\/li>\n<li>Redemption<strong style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Gifts of grace<\/h3>\n<p>When you really focus on these four life changing gifts of grace, it truly should make us \u2018kick dirt\u2019 on anything about which we are boasting. These were all on the Triune God\u2019s heart and mind when the cross was the only way a holy God could justify sinners to dwell in his presence for eternity. Everything we might try to bring to the table will eventually be smoke and ashes. Worthless!!<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201cFor no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Christ Jesus\u201d <\/em><\/strong>(I Cor. 3.11NKJV)<strong><em>. <\/em><\/strong>So, build on that foundation and when wonderful things come your way, give the glory to the Lord. He loves your praises. Boasting in him is a good thing.
