Right before the Spirit proclaims this incredible truth, he tells us that \u201cthe rain and snow come down from heaven and do not return there, but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater<\/em><\/strong>\u201d. And who do you suppose is the sower and eater? Right, we, the Body of Christ. He\u2019s describing the power of his word being used for kingdom purposes. While our opinions matter, what power we have within us to change lives for the kingdom is his word. It is God-breathed, it is Spirit-filled, it is all-powerful and eternal.<\/p>\n God spoke creation into existence. Everything that we see and are has been generated by the almighty power of his spoken word. Isaiah goes on to say: \u201cBut it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it\u201d.<\/strong><\/em> That is why it is so critical that we stay invested in his word. It is truth and life. We share and speak God\u2019s word into our own life and into others, but the results of the growth and the purpose is all in his hands and it\u2019s right there in his word.<\/p>\n To show the power of God\u2019s word, all we have to do is travel with Jesus into the wilderness after he\u2019d been baptized. The Spirit of God led him there to be tempted by Satan three times. He didn\u2019t use any of his power other than he spoke truth as he answered Satan in all three temptations. The evil one departed because the power of the word was greater than his power. The same word power is in you and me if we will embrace it, meditate on it and use it for his glory.
